What ECG readings are normal for a 25 year old man?

What ECG readings are normal for a 25 year old man?

Many possibilities: the most normal reading would be NSR, normal sinus rhythm. Not uncommon to see sinus bradycardia, sinus arrhythmia and short PR interval in young healthy people to name a few. Do you have a specific reading you have a question about? ...Read more

Electrocardiogram (Definition)

Electrocardiogram (ecg, ekg) is a print-out of the electrical forces detected by electrodes on the chest wall, as electricity travels through the heart with each heart beat. The electrodes are placed in different positions, and each position "sees" the electrical activity of the heart from its own vantage point. Abnormalities in signal detected at chest surface ...Read more

Can you tell me how to tell if I have normal ECG readings for a 25 year old man?

Can you tell me how to tell if I have normal ECG readings for a 25 year old man?

ECG: To tell if you have normal ECG readings, you have to have an ECG performed and then ask or obtain the results of the test. If the results are normal, then you have a normal ecg. ...Read more

On ECG readings what does occasional premature ectopic complexes mean, a rightward axis, a short pr, and low voltage qrs?

Pre-excitation?: There is a short delay between the times the upper chambers (atria) contract and the lower chambers (ventricles). The two events are seen on the ekg as the p and r waves. If that is shorter than 120 msec, that can mean an accessory pathway that is bypassing the normal conduction system and cause "pre-excitation". Look up WPW or lgl syndrome. See an electrophysiologist about possible ablation. ...Read more

The ECG read it boarder line and the Doctor say it is within normal limit and to neglect the EKG reading.which one I should believe ?

Doctor: Electrocardiograms take years of experience to interpret properly and even then there may be slight variables in each doctors assessment. With that being said, the doctor`s interpretation should be trusted. The computer makes broad generalizations and does not give conclusive results. ...Read more

What does it mean when I have an irregular EKG reading during a sleep study?

Arrhthmia: It could be atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter and pvcs. Treatment depends on what the monitored showed. Lot of times if your sleep apnea gets treated and if it improves, your arrhytmia will get better also. ...Read more

I have an incomplete on an EKG reading what does it mean?

Can't tell: Not sure what "incomplete" would be referring to if it's not associated with any other phrase. It may be followed by other information, e.g. Incomplete right bundle branch block. Might want to clarify. ...Read more

Can you tell me if i had a normal EKG reading, but weeks after im still having chest pains should I worry about a heart attack?

Can you tell me if i had a normal EKG reading, but weeks after im still having chest pains should I worry about a heart attack?

Less likely: A nl ekg does not completely exclude active heart disease. If there are persistent symptoms cardiology eval with echo, stress test and cardiac enzymes may be in order. If these tests are neg and symptoms persist atrial of nsaids for costochondritismay be helpful. ...Read more

My EKG reading was 54, could that be the beginning of bradychardia? My mom has a slow heart beat and a heart murmur. I'm concerned I will get a murmur

Bradycardia: Bradycardia in a person who is physically very active is normal. If you are performing aerobic exercise on a regular basis, do not worry about a heart rate of 54 bpm. A heart murmur can be benign, albeit if you develop it later in life, you need to be evaluated; however, there is very little correlation between bradycardia and a heart murmur (far-fetched correlations exist however). ...Read more
