An enlarging abdomen over what is normal for you, can develop over a period of hours to weeks. Type of surgery: Difficult to answer without knowing if it was done laparoscopically or open technique. It should not happen months after surgery. There may be other reasons for it so consult your md and get ct scan of the abdomen.
Possibly: If you are referring to 'itchiness' of the incisions, this is very common.See 1 more doctor answer
Time: Presuming you are referring to an abdominal operation, I commonly hear from patients that their abdomen is swollen for weeks after the operation despite the fact that they don't look swollen to me. The patient however is a much better judge about their abdominal girth than me. What I do know is that it is common, and resolves without treatment. Severe cases may require more investigation however.
Yes: Yes, but it depends on what type of hernia in terms of location and severity. A groin hernia or complex hernia would probably not be best to do at the same time. A relatively straightforward umbilical or incisional hernia can be done at the same time, but it also depends on the condition of the gallbladder. Discuss with your surgeon to find out what's best for you.See 2 more doctor answers
I feel like the top of my abdomen is full of air. I had laproscopic gallbladder surgery 4 days ago. My bowels are moving normally. What can cause this?
Air: You are right you do have air inflated in your belly for lap chole. Call your surgeon if don't feel better soon.
Few days: Usually feel gassy or bloated feeling for a few day or more. Resolves once bowel function back to normal too.
Ice and elevation: The best ways to reduce swelling are applying ice and elevation, if that is possible. Generally, it just takes time for swelling to reolve - normally 4 to 6 weeks.
Gallbladder surgery 2 months ago. If I use my abdomen to lift my kids gallbladder side get swollen. A little painful and cant sit straight. Normal?

Upper right side abdominal tenderness everyday as well as gastro issues. Could pain still be from gallbladder surgery I had on 6/9/13?
Anything: Is possible but pain nearly 4 months after gallbladder surgery is not likely from the surgery. Would need to have an evaluation with your surgeon. Rare condition is pain from retained stone in the bile duct. May need blood tests & new ultrasound. Other possibilities are gastritis, pancreatitis, very rarely infection this late after surgery, etc. See your surgeon for an evaluation.
Is it possible to get a gallbladder attack after gallbladder surgery? Sometimes I get sharp pains out of no where on my right side of my abdomen.
May be: Something else. How long ago was your surgery? If the surgery was recent then muscle and gas pains can come and go & sometimes can be worse with large or fatty meals. If the surgery was longer ago then see your family doctor for an evaluation as pains can come from many sources.See 1 more doctor answer

Sludge on us, high chol., high ldl, hida 40%, back and abdominal pain, green stool. Is gallbladder surgery an option if hida is 40%?
Depends: Most times surgery is considered if the gallbladder function is less than 30%-35%. It would be quite possible that having gallbladder surgery, for you, may offer no benefit ; could make your symptoms worse with more food intolerance, indigestion, diarrhea, etc. Be very cautious in considering surgery that could have no benefit for you.See 1 more doctor answer
