Unknown: If you are having a different reaction than before, talk to your doctor who did the scope. One thing we all worry about is an undiagnosed perforation of the colon. If you have that, you need treatment now. Tell your doctor your symptoms now. ...Read more

Left flank pain tender to touch, can't lay on left side. Abdominal CT scan was ok. What else could pain be from? Upper endoscopy, colonoscopy ok

Many possibilities: I don't have enough information to provide a good answer. How long has the pain been present? Any history of injury? What worsens the pain? What makes it better? What diagnosis have you been given? How severe is the pain? What lab tests have been done?

We need more info, please.

Kind regards,

I have dull ache in upper abdomen, some back pressure, and some upper chest pain. 30 y/o maile. Endoscopy/Colonoscopy clean in Feb. What can I take?

Well, you had a good: Look at the upper and lower gastrointestinal system back in February, but it doesn't sound like you really have a diagnosis yet. This is the highest priority. It's not clear whether your symptoms are coming from the GI tract, the lungs/pleural cavity, or even your heart. Continue working with your doctor to make the diagnosis and implement effective treatment. Good wishes:) ...Read more

Getting better/worse: ?? if worse, would definitely go see your GI doc. Did you get constipated after the procedure perhaps? Sometimes straining can lead to more painful hemorrhoids. Make sure you know what your polyp was as well (tubular adenoma, tubulovilleous adenoma, any dysplastic changes) and when they want you back. ...Read more

Is it ok to have colonoscopy with a head cold and sore throat?

It may not be very: Comfortable but there is no specific restriction for this procedure. You will receive some twilight anesthesia so potentially this could be a reason to wait as well as the potential to infect the operators and nurses doing your procedure. If it is elective it would probably be in the best interest of everyone involved for you to wait until you are back to full health. ...Read more

6 year old having endoscopy/colonoscopy will she be sore afterwards? I heard your throat and rectum would be. How do I prepare her for this?

Not necessarily...: Typically, your child will be sedated during the test ; will have no recollection of it. It: It is not likely. During a colonoscopy, the scope is inserted into the rectum and into the colon, and there is much space between the colon and lumbar spine. Any complications with your back would have been felt immediately post procedure if any part of your body was traumatized. It sounds like you have a sensitive back injury of your lumbar spine, and you should see your doctor to investigate this pain, since your surgery was not too long ago. ...Read more
