Incompetent Cervix: If you have findings consistent with incompetent cervix (painless dilation, early pregnancy losses...etc) you may benefit from a vaginal cerclage (2 types). We usually only perform abdominal cerclages on women who have failed vaginal placement or have virtually no cervix left for proper placement. It's better to place a cerlage before 15 weeks.
