Sounding like: He may have a small bowel obstruction especially if he has had any prior abdominal surgery. May also be renal colic from a kidney stone. Either way he needs to be seen promptly by his pcp or go to an emergency room. This is not normal! ...Read more

Gastritis: Could be gastritis which is a stomach inflammation
it gets worst with stress
it could be associated with reflux and that would explain the going upwards
it could your gallbladder which can get worst around periods and changes in hormone cycles
take Maalox or mylanta, take zantac (ranitidine) or pepcid and stay away from spicy food and greasy food
