Abdominal Pain Only When Lying Down
Sudden steady upper abdominal pain 24 hours relieved a bit when lying down or reclined increases when sit up or stand pain radiates to chest & back?
Seek md: Could be anything from pancreatitis to gas. Since it has continued I would go to an er and seek help and a diagnosis. Sooner rather than later.
Upper abdominal pain, under rib (left side), had egd, ultra sound, labs. All come back good. Mostly pain when laying down. Can this be a hernia?
Why do I have upper abdominal pain that comes and goes, and there is pressure when crouching down?
Hard to say: Many things can cause upper abdo pain. Your description is not enough; you should have a complete history, physical, and perhaps some blood tests, see your doctor!
I'm having upper abdominal pain when I lay down, wake up in the morning or I'm very hungry. This has been happening for a couple of years.
Very likely you are: Experiencing gastroesophageal reflux disease. This problem will definitely cause the symptoms you describe. You should avoid alcohol, coffee and tea (including decaf), and highly seasoned foods. Lists of foods to avoid are available in the internet. Then you should be taking one off the many medicines that decrease stomach acid, ranitidine (Zantac), famotidine (Pepcid), pantoprazole (Protonix)
I am experiencing upper abdominal pain. On right side hurts more sitting forward leaning down and turning to my right. Dull aching pain?
Doctor can evaluate: Many things are in the upper abdomen: stomach, pancreas, liver, small intestine, gall bladder, large intestine, abdominal muscles, etc... An exam by a primary care doctor can help figure things out. Pain in the right upper abdomen, especially with symptoms that occur after eating, can be due to gallstones or other gall bladder disease. A doctor can evaluate for gall bladder or other problems.
Woke up with upper abdominal pain that's only relieved when I lay down on my stomach or put pressure/ slouch?
Is not noted but what you are describing is pretty classical for acute pancreatitis. Get a "hands on" exam ASAP!
Hope this is helpful!
Hi I have been having noise bleedings, headaches, upper abdominal pain, and at night when I am laid down I feel like my whole body is shaking?
Nose bleeds: Considering that you have all these symptoms, you should be seen by a doctor asap. You must be checked out to rule out conditions like vasculitis.
Upper abdominal pain, 3 weeks postpartum, goes away when I sit down, painful to stand up and walk around. Painful to the touch and when I press in.?
See Doctor: It is not normal to have upper abdominal pain 3 weeks postpartum. Even if you have had a c-sec. The discomfort would be mid-lower abdomen. It is true that you could have an infection, which is very serious. Please go your OB asap, if you can't get an immed. Appt. Go to the er and make sure you tell them you are 3 wks postpartum; they should evaluate you stat-no waiting. Go now.See 1 more doctor answer

5 days of Constipation, black stool, lower back pain, upper abdominal pain in centre which eases when I lie upside down. What could be the cause?
Nonspecific: These symptoms don't point towards a single problem that can be diagnosed in this forum. Sounds like it would be appropriate to visit the doctor. Ask about whether or not there could be blood in the stool. Hope this helps!
Many possibilities..: Possible causes of upper abdominal pain include gallbladder disease, ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal cancer, etc. I advise you to see your doctor for further evaluation including a thorough medical history, physical examination, blood tests, and possible ultrasound, ct scan, or even upper endoscopy, depending on the above information.See 1 more doctor answer
Watch your diet: Abdominal pain upper right or left could indicate gallbladder disease it depend on if the pain is associated with food it can be caused by constipation as well watch your bowel movement it can be caused by irritable bowel syndrome that can cause bloating and pain secondary to spasm in the intestine triggered by food or stress.
Get some help...: Abdominal pain is never normal, and lots of things can cause positional mid-left abdominal pain--see earlier healthtap answers please. Your symptoms may be related to a non-serious condition, but when pain is persistent/ recurrent then evaluation is especially warranted.
Depends: Without knowing more, it is difficult to say what the cause is, however it can be related to your gallbladder (gallstones) or stomach (ulcer disease). You should contact your pcp to gather more information and possibly run some tests like an ultrasound.
