Scared have colon cancer family history 60+. Yellow brown stool occasional gas. Left side back pain. Min. If not any stomach pain. Started 2 weeks ago?

Try not to worry: The symptoms you describe are not consistent with colon cancer. My recommendation is for you to develop a plan with your primary care doctor for screening for colon cancer. Based on current guidelines in a patient with your positive family history, I recommend having a screening colonoscopy at age 40, or possibly 35. However, if you have blood in your stools, you should have colonoscopy. B well ...Read more

My 17 y/o has constipation weird pressure left side abdomen below rib cage no pain present for a few months colon cancer with enlarged spleen?!

If the spleen is big, an explanation needs to be found. It would be appropriate to check junior for porphyria and hypothyroidism. If you are not satisfied with any answer you get, or junior is not satisfied, demand a second opinion. ...Read more

Is abdominal pain a rare symptom. Of colon cancer? I've had minor short abdominal pain. Almost everyday I do have anxiety but I worry its stomach or colon cancer give me statistics please

Dealing with fear: Good medicine goes much deeper than numbers. The very fact that you have what you rightly characterize as "anxiety" (i.e., concern that is interfering with you doing the things you like to do) warrants a physician's office visit, and probably (since the focus is cancer) endoscopy from both ends to allay your concerns. The 'scope artists won't miss a cancer that's symptomatic. Good luck. ...Read more
