Pain in the upper left-hand side of my abdomen just beneath the rib cage. What can be the cause of this pain. Had Ventral hernia repair on 7-7-14.

I have been suffering with pain that comes & goes on my left hand side below my breast located near my rib cage. Could this be gas?

Hard to say: if it is recurrent or persistent she needs to be seen. Common things that can cause that are a pulled muscle or gas trapped in the colon right there where the colon turns downward by the spleen which ids tucked up under the left side of the rib cage.
