Belly Pain (Definition)

Abdominal pain is pain that you feel anywhere between your chest and groin. This is often referred to as the stomach region or belly. Almost everyone experiences pain in the abdomen at one time or another. Most of the time, it is not caused by a serious medical problem. There are many organs in the abdomen. Pain in the abdomen can originate from any one of them, including: Organs related to digestion -- the end of the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas The aorta -- a large blood vessel that runs straight down the inside of the abdomen The appendix -- an organ in the lower right abdomen that no longer serves much function The kidneys -- two bean-shaped organs that lie deep within the abdominal cavity The spleen -- an organ involved in blood maintenance and infection control However, the pain may start from somewhere else -- like your chest or pelvic area. You may also have a generalized infection, such as the flu or strep throat, that affects many parts of your body. The intensity of the pain does not always reflect the seriousness of the condition causing the pain. Severe abdominal pain can be from mild conditions, such as gas or the cramping of viral gastroenteritis. Many Causes: The pain in abdomen may be caused by many causes and persistant abdominal pain needs to be evaluated by your primary care physician, most of the time he/she can find the cause or make a referal to GI specialist, or gyn doctor causes can be from constipation, lactose intolerance, peptic ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis and ovarin and uterine causes so see your doctor to find out. ...Read more

Well provided: The ultrasound showed a normal gallbladder and the blood tests included LIVER FUNCTION studies" the most common things are the commonest" its probably a viral infection of some kind and I suggest fluids and rest and it should "declare" itself soon! No.: I do not believe the digestive enzymes and probiotics are the causative agents. It sounds more like a very common problem of hemorrhoids. I would suggest seeing a proctologist to confirm this since I am unable to see the problem and there can be other causes which would need treatment.. ...Read more

Abdo pain: Sounds like you may be having lower GI (colonic) problems. Possibly Diverticulitis versus inflammatory bowel disease ( if symptoms have been ongoing for a longer period). Yes!: You could , see if you are going to miss your april period. You can buy a pregnancy tester in most all drug stores / pharmacies, if you have however symptoms and they do not get better see your physician to make sure if the two are or not connected. ...Read more
