Miralax (polyethylene glycol): I recommend drinking lots of water and using miralax, (polyethylene glycol) this type of fiber works with your body and doesn't necessarily force you to use the bathroom but lets you decide when you want to go. Each person has different reactions to fiber and some can cause bloating to some while others to have the same symptoms, so it is important to try a few to see which one works best for you. ...Read more

More info needed: Thanks for your question! Prilosec's main mechanism of action is to decrease acid production. Need to see doctor: Nobody can diagnose on the basis of just history. Irritable bowel syndrome can cause your symptoms, and that may be both genetically determined and related to stress. Drinking and smoking "regularly" are both bad for you, and may relate to your stress level. Alcohol can cause esophagitis and gastritis which cause abdominal pain. You need to see your physician for an evaluation, including tests. ...Read more

Fecal impaction, constipation, and stool color changes I have been battling w/constipation &/or impaction for years now. The past few weeks I have been having major gas pains when I eat regardless of stool passage. I have had bad lower abdomen pain radiat
You may be reading too much into the color of the stool. The dark green color may have been from something you ate or from a vitamin or medication you ingested. You did not mention if you are under the care of a gastroenterologist, or what studies or medications have been tried. Therefore, my first thought is for you to see your doctor right away for the worsening pain. You will need an endoscopy and colonoscopy if not already done. If you are not on probiotics, that would be a good place to start; in addition daily MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) to help with the constipation. Also considering seing a nutritionist for a diet plan that will help decrease gas and promote regular bowel movements.
All the best. ...Read more
