Probably upper GI: The most likely thing is pylorospasm spasm of valve between stomach and duodenum, but peptic ulcer disease, pancreatic disease and gallbladder issues are other likely culprits. Colon issues can a cause if old enough for colonic pathology. Constipation as well. Impossible to say much more without more history. If not constipated, then try either mylanta or prilosec. You may also have a generalized infection, such as the flu or strep throat, that affects many parts of your body. The intensity of the pain does not always reflect the seriousness of the condition causing the pain. May be an ulcer, or?: There are many causes for abdominal pain. In that location (the epigastrium), i would likely think of ulcer.
