Doctor insights on:
Abdominal Mass Above The Belly Button
Mass in lower left quadrant of abdomen. 2in to the left of the belly button, mildly painful but not too severe.
Abnormal structure: This means there is something abnormal on a physical exam (doctor can feel the abnormality) or something seen on an imaging study, such as an Xray or CT scan. This abnormality occupies space, it has physical dimensions, unlike something like an abnormal blood test. Many possible causes, fluid collection, intestine distended with gas, most serious would be a cancer.
Medical doctor: U should c ur medical doctor. They can often diagnose what it is. They will also need to give u referral to a specialist, i.E, general surgeon.
Not necessarily.: "mass" is a vague term often used to describe a lump found on physical examination. Possible causes include those arising from the abdominal wall or from within the abdominal cavity. This finding warrants a more detailed search, which may include an ultrasound +/- a ct of the abdomen. As we like to say, "walk before you run": don't reach too many conclusions until your doctor completes their eval.See 1 more doctor answer
There is No differen: A mass is same as a lump, there is no difference!
I am experiencing abdominal lump. The following also describes me: Abdominal mass. What should I do?
Hard to say: Without more information but would recommend seeing your doctor to get a better idea what is going on and have an exam.
I have an abdominal lump (upper left) This grew when I have tried to do exercises for abdomen. Is it the exercises that caused this lump?
I doubt it: If you have a lump anywhere, it needs to be checked by a doctor as it can be a cancer. Exercise is unlikely to create any kind of lumps. It may be simply a coincidence and it is totally unrelated to exercise. So you need to go see a physician for a physical examination followed by some X-Rays/CT scan to check the nature of the lump if the doctor can confirm that it is present there.
In the past 4 yrs I have had 3 surgeries to remove very large abdominal mass, then at 3 mo follow up discovered large cyst, it was drained, its back?

Depends: On what the mass is. Some are benign tumors, hernias, abscesses, or malignant tumors and depending on what it is and where it is and if caught early, can be curable. Without more specifics, I can't say anything more. Just don't ignore a detectable mass. Get it diagnosed and treated.
See a doctor: You are young to get cancer or to be concerned about such, and I do not know what you are feeling or what your specific concerns are. Cancers may have no symptoms at all for a long tine period. Would need to see a doctor for a physical examination.
I have a large abdominal mass in the left lower part of my abdomen. It is very painful and has been there for 3 months or longer. What could it be?
Need to see doctor: It is difficult to tell you what it is. You need to see your doctor to examine you and order necessary testings.See 3 more doctor answers
Pressure-Related: An abdominal mass can be due to many different diseases, some trivial, others life threatening (hernia, cancer, benign tumor, aneurysm, infection, etc.). Symptoms vary with the cause & location of the mass and its rate of growth. In general, if pushing against other organs, pain is common (although, slow growing tumors can reach large sizes while "flying under the radar").
