I have been having gallbladder related symptoms for the past 9 months but ultrasound showed no stones For past 6 months I am having consistent thoracic back pain especially after eating I rate back pain to be worse than abdominal pain abdominal CT scan M

Gallbladder no stone

Abdomen_x-ray
Back pain after meals can be referred pain from gallbladder or from pancreatic origin. One can have abnormal contraction of gallbladder which can bring about similar pain as if one has stones. Test which evaluates it called CCK HIDA. If this is the case then removing gallbladder can sometimes elevate symptoms. Back pain after meals also ?mean pancreatic pathology(inflammation, scarring, cancer)

Are there official recommendations for treating amniotic infection?

Usually delivery

Amniotic_infection
An amniotic infection will most often result in spontaneous labor and delivery. When labor does not happen spontaneouly, the usual management is to induce labor or proceed with a cesarean delivery, if cesarean delivery is indicated. In either case (labor or cesarean), antibiotics would be initiated and very likely continued well after delivery for both the mom and the baby.

What is an abdominal CT good at seeing, and what is an abdominal U/S good at seeing?

CT vs. Ultrasound

Mri
A CT is excellent at seeing most pathology of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. An ultrasound is far less expensive, has no radiation involved, and is a great screening tool. An ultrasound is great for detecting gallstones, and kidney related issues, but might lead to a CT or MRI for detecting more obscure pathology

What are the tests for amniotic infection?

Cultures

Blood
Blood, amniotic fluid and cervical cultures are useful to determine intraamniotic infection, however clinical criteria are sufficient to clinch the diagnosis and prompt expert medical therapy is warranted to promptly evacuate the uterus. Low amniotic fluid glucose, positive Gram stain, and increased white cell count in the amniotic fluid are all suggestive of intraamniotic infection.

what causes amniotic infection and how do I prevent it?

You can't

Uterus
Amniotic infection (chorio) can be caused by prolonged rupture of membranes, vaginal or cervical infections or some infections that affect the whole body and spread to the uterus through the blood. If you think your bag of waters is broken, go to the hospital. If you think you may have any infection, see your doctor. If antibiotics are prescribed, take them.

Dr. ROBERT Uyeda answered:

Could inflammation be seen on a abdominal ct?

Yes, sometimes,

Computed_tomography
only if there are secondary anatomic changes, such as fat stranding or swelling. And of course it depends on the degree of inflammation, too. If inflammation is not bad enough to cause anatomic changes, you will not see it on CT.

Should I avoid an abdominal CT if I'm in the second trimester?

Yes

Mri
Abdominal CT uses radiation to make the images. It would be best to wait on abdominal CT if possible. Ask your doctor if abdominal ultrasound or MRI would be appropriate. MRI does not use radiation.
