Distension : Usually from distension of the small and/or large intestine. Should resolve within a week or so. If the hernia was repaired, you can always call your surgeon to be sure. Unlikely: Is the abscess healing well? There is probably no relation between the two conditions. You could have a colon or ovarian issue or a kidney stone causing the abdominal pain. Get it checked. ...Read more

Go see your doctor: Without more information (how long? how severe? pain w movement? related to period? fevers?), I'd say you need to be seen by a doctor right away who can examine your abdomen and gather more information. Might be as simple as gastritis, but may be much more serious, like ovarian torsion or appendicitis, both of which can be surgical emergencies. May still be apendix: Pain in RLQ concerning for appendicitis, ectopic pregnancy & ovarian torsion. A simple pregnancy test rules out ectopic. CT us usually the tool for appendicitis. Did they use oral and IC contrast? (Oral is chalky stuff you drink, IV makes you feel hot all over). If contrast given, appendicitis less likely.. Lymph nodes likely "mesenteric adenitis", which is OK. if worsens, go back to doc ...Read more
