I was wondering what could cause me to have abdominal cramp like pains while running that are so bad that I have to stop from it.
Whenever I am running at around half a mile I get extremely bad cramps in the lower abdomen. What may this be from?
Stitch: If it is just under your ribcage, it is commonly referred to as a "stitch". It is a spasbm of your diaphragm muscle which you use to breath. Many people press on the area to help it go away. I have what feels like a twinge of pain, similar to a running cramp in my lower left abdomen. Started this afternoon while sitting at work.
Cramp: This may be an abdominal muscle strain/mild inflammation or it could be an early manifestation of colon inflammation or diverticulitis. Many things: It doesn't say how old you are, and we would need a lot more info to help you. Could you be pregnant? Are you constipated? Have you been ill? Could you have an std? Is your period due/overdue? Have you had abnormal (or no) pap smears? Has there been a change in your bowel movements? Many things can cause lower abdomen cramping/pain. Hi, why do I suffer from stomach cramps after running, even ghough i'm well hydrated before, during and after excercise?
Well, it depends: On what u mean by stomach cramps. Is it gastrointestinal or in the muscles. Lactic acid is a by product from the muscles that builds during exertion and initiates muscle pain and spasm. Though hydration is important, it must be done with a slow increase in conditioning.
