Complex left pelvic cyst 5x4.6x4.6cm on scar of previous hysterectomy. Is aspiration via us possible or is surgery better? Abdominal pain and bloating
Surgery vs. Observe: Any post-menopausal woman with a complex pelvic cyst has to be careful for ovarian cancer; aspiration would be the last treatment option i'd consider unless you have morbidities that prevent you from having a safe surgery, i.e. Morbid obesity, cardiac failure, etc. I would either f/u w/ imaging in 3 mo's for growth of this cyst (unlikley) or accept surgical excision. Family history? Ca-125? ...Read more

I've done my hysterectomy for almost 2 yrs, , suddenly i' experience bloating and spotting this time. Still my 2 ovaries is left and cervic. Thank you.?
Typical 3 weeks: It's typical for this to last up to 3 weeks post operatively, however I have seen patients where it can take a little longer. Not much you can do, other than light exercise like walking. It can sometimes just take awhile for body to mobilize those fluids out of your skin and tissues in order to get the fluid into your blood stream and eventually come out as urine. Good luck! ...Read more

Should I be concerned about ovarian ca if I had a hysterectomy 9 yrs ago have free pelvic fluid cysts on my ovary on us w/ abd pain bloating?
Unlikely, ? family hx: At 31, women's ovaries make female hormones and "cycle" even though there's no uterus (hysterectomy) to show cycling through bleeding. Every woman gets cysts on ovaries at times -- it is how we develop eggs, but our ovaries "go overboard, " make too much fluid by the egg. If it breaks open, releases fluid, blood=pain; gets better on its own. Family history of ovary cancer = see md! Good luck! ...Read more

Pelvic Prolapse...: If you have had a hysterectomy but are feeling like something is hanging out, you may have some type of pelvic prolapse. A cystocele is when the bladder pushes into the vagina. A rectocele is when the rectum pushes in to the vagina. It can also be prolapse of the hysterectomy incision or the contents of the abdomen (an enterocele). See your Gyn and get an exam. Then you will know! ...Read more
Had hysterectomy in 07 for endometreosis in uterus & abd. Cavity. Is it possible that some is still there? Problems every month w/ bloating & PMS sym.
Yes: After a hysterectomy for endometriosis, it is possible that some ovarian tissue remains. Even if both ovaries were technically removed, it only takes a small amount of ovarian tissue to produce hormones. Those hormones can cause significant pain, pms, bloating, etc. On a monthly cycle, and can keep some endometriosis being active. See your gynecologist: medication or further surgery can help. ...Read more
Had partial hysterectomy 2yrs ago started having severe cramps bloating and stomach is hard nausea and it came on suddenly what could be cause of this?
IBS?: Female bemoans chronic "cramping, nauseousness & bloating" after "partial hysterectomy". Med literature reports majority of women with invasive abdominal/pelvic procedures develop bowel adhesions; an iatrogenic cause of intestinal dysfunctions & IBS-like symptoms; possibly explains practice of PMD diagnosis begetting series of laparoscopies begetting hysterectomy via theory termed "endometriosis". ...Read more
My vaginal swab detected hsv1 I have no lesions only pain and bloating in my pelvis. I have had a complete hysterectomy including the removal of my ovaries. I haven't been sexually active in over 12 months. Could the results be incorrect?
4cm complex ovarian cyst. Mri can't ruleout neoplasm. Hysterectomy in apr. Age 37. Horrible pain, bloating, urinary incont. Bowel changes. Surgery?
May have to remove I: Complex ovarian cysts require closer monitoring and consideration of removal if they grow in size. The size is still not big enough to chase it and remove it right now. But an interval re-evaluation in 2-3 months will help to determine if it is increasing in size or not. If it grows over 6 months and the size is bigger than 6-7 cm, I would recommend surgical removal. But also get a ca125 level do. ...Read more

Bowel movement and blood came out, wiped and it was like having a period (i had a hysterectomy so no) mucus recently in stool, bloating, what to do?
it is possible that you had a hematoma (a collection of blood and clot) after surgery that just opened and drained after the bowel movement. If you have nothing further and no symptoms (fever especially) there is no cause for concern, but if you are having other symptoms or fever, pain, etc. Call your doctor.

Depends: Bloating may be the result of hormones when it happens just before your menses. It can be related to your diet. Some people develop diet allergies later in life. Allergy to dairy is a good example. Some women talk a lot during eating and the air is swallowed and it causes bloating. If bloating becomes constant and persistent it should be investigated by your physician. ...Read more
