Possible surgery: When a hernia of abdominal wall repaired, it is essentail to have the wall intact. This is accomplised by inserting a mesh to cover the defect so the newly constructed wall is complete. The mesh is sutured into place with strong unually non absorbable sutures. It is possible that at one of the suture sites there is a hematoma or granuloma developing. Surgery may be needed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Two weeks is a bit long gift that, and the blood is spread into the tissues and not easily removed. May be best to wait until it reabsorbs, and that takes up to several weeks. See you surgeon to find out what's best in your case. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Many : Many times the blood you are talking about is bodily fluids tinged with blood. Sometimes you don't even have to drain that fluid. I'm assuming they did because you have an exact measure of 840 milliliters... Either way many times a collection of bodily fluids or even frank blood as long as the bleeding stopped is left alone for your body to deal with. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

If my abdomen and lower parts go numb after a hernia surgery, is that normal? I went in for a double hernia that was caused by lifting to much weight. The belly button and left lower areas were effected. The doctor said the cut would be small and it would
Some numbness common: It depends on what type of hernia repair you had done. It's not uncommon to have numbness around the incisions after surgery. If you had a laparoscopic hernia repair, that should be minimal. Open hernia repairs are associated with some incidence of numbness on the inside of the thigh and scrotum. Sometimes it gets better over time. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
