Depends: Extreme high blood pressure can induce rupture but of course also depending on the size , type/shape of the aneurysm . So small AAA less than 4 cm rarely rupture less than 1% . Ask you medical doctor and avoid very heavy excercise if your aneurysm is big. ...Read more

Probably not: Very thin patients can often feel their aorta and become concerned that it represents an aneurysm. I wouldn't worry at all. And at 19 an aortic aneurysm would be really unlikely unless you had a connective tissue disorder like marfan's or ehlers-danlos syndromes, but this is likely something you'd have found out by now. ...Read more

AAA: Rare at your age especially healthy. Yes ultrasound can visualize the abdominal aorta but it depends on body habitus or abdominal girth. Good screening for aaa. Yes many times it's possible to palpate the abdominal aorta and it does not mean you have an aneurysm. ...Read more

Went to doc for sinus infection. Abdominal exam revealed "palpable abdominal aorta" & now told to get ultrasound. But a bit young for possible AAA???

It is possible: to have an AAA but not likely it is prudent to be thorough with a palpable abdominal aorta. If you are very thin that is not unusual however if the Aortic palpation reveals an expansile aorta it is more worrisome ...Read more
