A Lot Of Fruit Flies In The House
Many items: Some customers notoriously do not wash their hands often, even after using the bathroom. Bathroom faucets, soap dispensers, towel dispensers, door handles carry many germs. Use paper towel to turn off water & open door to leave. Condiment dispensers & menus are infrequently sanitized; so carry hand sanitizer with you to prevent transferring others' germs to your mouth/food. I was pouring some gas in a lawn mower this morning and spilled some gas. The lawn mower is in our enclosed garage. Are there any health concerns from spilling the small amount of gas?
Garage exploding: Anytime you spill gas in an enclosed space it is best to ventilate the space as quickly as possible. The garage can become the same as the ignition cylinder in your car & a spark may set of an explosion. Best to fill only outside in a well ventilated space. Otherwise a few gas fumes shouldn't bother you. ...Read more
Can a small amount of insecticide sprayed at a corner of room drift to fill the rest of the room and other parts of the house?
Likely no: When i was pregnant, my father in law sprayed some insecticide on my window sill and i was afraid for days, so i know what you're going through. Likely this small amount of insecticide isn't capable of drifting to fill the rest of room, and definitely not other parts of the house. I'm guessing that the spray stayed for the most part on the floor or carpet where it was put. Not to worry! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Imports: Most of the time grocery stores can get different produce nearly year round. Remember the southern hemisphere has their seasons opposite those in north america. Live in Smyrna, GA. A little bit of water went up my nose in the shower. I'm terrified of the risk of contracting the brain-eating amoeba. How likely?
Afraid of rabies, previously vaccinated. Walking outside on bright, sunny day (no rain). Single drop of liquid fell from tree and lands directly in eye/tear-duct. Couldn't identify source of liquid. Possible bat saliva exposure or being paranoid?
Paranoid: The most likely liquid falling from a tree would be water. Did it rain recently? The odds of a bat salivating in a tree on a sunny day is very very rare. Bats like dark places to rest during the day. Also, bats drooling? Also very rare. The saliva from a bat causing rabies comes from a bite, not drool. Also very rare to get rabies through the membranes of the eyes. So, please don't worry. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Barefoot in the grass in north Georgia and felt like a sting on the arch of my foot. Found a small white-ish worm trying to burrow into my skin.
HMMM: Sounds odd for sure. I am not up on my white worm insects from Northern Georgia, but any insect bite can be infections. Clean the area well, and use topical antibx to prevent any infection. NSAIDS may help with discomfort. If it starts to get enlarged, redder, drain pus, you get feverish, than see the Dr. Best wishes. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I walked in the rain and found that there is a small cut on my toe, will I be at risk of some kind of infection?
Yes. : Any break in the skin puts the injured person at risk for infection because there is now an opening that can allow bacteria (or, rarely, fungi or parasites) to enter the body. The risk is higher the dirtier the foot was when it got cut (e.g. farmland with manure). Watch for redness and/or increasing pain, wash the wound once a day with soap and water and apply Bacitracin ointment and a bandaid. ...Read more
