Pain s/p gallbladder: Can be retained stone-, scarring, biliary ( bile duct )dyskinesia, or adhesions ( adhesions- sticking of surfaces after surgery is hard to detect except visually at laproscopy) , check lipase for pancreas effects and for h pylori a stomach bacteria that may be complicating the picture. No. : Hi, in the first few weeks after a gall bladder removal a few pts may get some diarrhea but this resolves soon. Over time most patients who have had their gall bladder removed for the appropriate reasons have no trouble whatsoever and lead a normal life. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Fairly rare: The vast majority of those undergoing cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder) do not experience any of the things you mention. Occasionally people have trouble digesting very fatty meals but that is not good for you anyway and can be managed by a moderately low fat diet. GB surgery: Your GB isn't working properly and you are symptomatic. I agree that you should remove the GB to not only improve/ resolve your symptoms but to prevent it from becoming an emergency procedure from a ruptured GB. If it's not functioning due to inflammation or gallstones you are at higher risk or a rupture. Have you had a GB u/s? This would help determine the urgency of surgery. Good luck ...Read more

May be normal...: It is common to have intermittent pain following umbilical hernia repair, and this is mostly determined by the extent and type of repair. Patients often have intermittent shape or "pulling" sensation that may extend several inches to either side of the umbilicus for a few weeks after repair.
