How can I know if my raised heart beat and tingly legs are caused by anxiety attacks. Did ekg, blood work good xrays of chest good.?

Pursue treatment: Your symptoms can be from anxiety. If your primary care doctor is sure that your symptoms are not caused by a medical problem, try to treat the symptoms as if they are anxiety attacks and see if they will improve: exercise, meditation, and an evaluation by a mental health professional are all good starts. Hope this answer helps. ...Read more

Blood appears sometimes in saliva especially after water pipe session. 2 clear chest xrays+clear chest ct scan. ENT doctor found nothing. What's next?

See dentist: I suspect that the blood likely comes from your gum. Have you had your teeth cleaned by a hygienist in the past 6 months? Do you floss and brush your teeth regularly? Perhaps it is time for you to quit the water pipe which may be irritating the tissue in your mouth leading to the bleeding. ...Read more

What happens when minimal lung collaspe is shown in an xray of the chest is it treated or can it get worse? I had a xray 3/10/13

Collapse implies: One of two things. 1. Pneumothorax, where air escapes the lung, or 2. A lobe seems to "close up" from a blocked bronchus. The former can be 'watched' and the lung commonly re-expands. The latter is of concern from aspirating something like a peanut, to a benign or malignant tumor needing further definition. ...Read more

Not clenbuterol: Clenbuterol, which is a potent stimulant in the same class as adrenaline and salbuterol, could conceivably cause chest pain in susceptible people during acute usage but not after it's worn off. At age 25, unless you're using cocaine or other illicit drugs, is very unlikely to be your heart and much more likely to be muscular or esophageal. I have dysautonomia and woke up short of breath-i can walk and all just feel like need more air, this happened b4 had spiral ct/xray chest, and heart echos/stress test evthing ok, but how can I help it?

SOB during sleep: Dysautonomia is hard to link to shortness of breath that awakens you from sleep. Do you have asthma/ reactive airway disease, obstructive sleep apnea, or environmental allergies? Perhaps, ask your doctor about ruling out these breathing conditions, or consult a pulmonologist. Meanwhile, try sleeping on your side or stomach rather than your back. Good luck! ...Read more

Sharp chest pain right side. Cough, sore throat, & stuffy nose last 10 days. Negative strep & chest xray. What's causing chest pain? Lungs? Ribs?

Pleurisy: A condition called pleuritis or pleurisy is inflammation of the pleura (lining between the lung and the chest wall). This pain can be more one-sided and not seen on chest x-ray. It can be quite painful and worse with taking deep breaths as the lining rubs together. This can follow a respiratory infection. Anti-inflammatory medication can help relieve the pain, but sometimes it takes a while. ...Read more

Need an exam: There are many causes for lymph node enlargement. Without more information it's difficult to give any specific advice. You should see your physician to evaluate your lymph node enlargement. Serious causes like malignancy are not nearly as common as other less significant causes, but to be certain see a physician for evaluation. Could be: Or could be from reflux or musculoskeletal source or respiratory symptoms (--why are you smoking up to 2 packs a day?). If your dr. My six year old daughter has had two stomach xrays and one chest xray do this put her at greater risk for cancer....worried to much radiation. Help?

Not so much: The machines used years ago delivered higher doses of radiation but advances in technology allow them to do the same work with much less today. I consider that level of exposure rather minor and wouldn't lose any sleep over the matter. There are so many other things we need to sort through to parent a kid that this can be put away and forgotten. ...Read more

Would a ct scan on brain and xray stomach and chest show of there was tumor present? Hard I breatge and pain when atool goes out. Headaches..

Yes, they should.: A CT scan of the brain will find most tumors. A chest X-ray will show whether your lungs are clear or whether there is fluid, an infection or inflammatory process, or any tumors. It will also show the size of your heart. An abdominal X-ray will show whether you have a blockage in your intestines. For pain with bowel movements, you need a rectal exam to start. ...Read more
