Jaw pain: Hello, it seems that with your history of a facial fracture and now jaw/neck pain, i would first think of tmj. The jaw joint may become inflamed and benefit from otc ibuprophen. I usually have patients use this as directed for 10 days. Also avoid repetitive jaw motion like gum chewing. See your doctor for confirmation. Muscle pain: Likely a muscle spasm from one of your chewing muscles. Are you chewing a lot of gum? Eating hard or chewy candy? Eating meat a lot? Rest the area by eating soft foods only like soups and pudding and this problem should resolve tale over the counter pain meds like tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin for pain.
