Urine is the product of the kidneys, which is produced to eliminate the waste products of metabolism, manage body fluid balance, &maintain acid-base balance. The blood is first filtered by the kidneys, and the composition of the resulting fluid is then altered depending on the body's needs. It is composed of mostly water, and breakdown products from blood cells impart ...Read more
Epithelial cells and mucus present in urine, normal red blood cells and white blood cells in urine .No symptoms , possible causes ?
Need more info: How many red cells and how many white cells? Who asked for the test and why? Lab results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the test is usually in the best position to do that. ...Read more
Dipstick showed "+++" blood. Urinalysis showed "small" blood and no RBCs. How can it have blood but no rbcs? Doesn't blood = rbcs? CBC shows anemia
Repeat Urinalysis: You are partially right. But RBCs can dissolve (Hemolysis) if the urine sample is not fresh when it is examined under the microscope. Therefore a fresh urine sample examined within 30 minutes of sampling should be sent to lab again and they should be cautioned that the test needs to be done right away and not let the urine sit in some corner of the office or in the lab before it is checked. ...Read more

Urine sample (with stringy floating white pieces) has TRACE bacteria and MODERATE leukocytes. No blood, nitrites, ketones, bilirubin. Diagnosis?
That is probably a: normal looking urine, with some asymptomatic bacteriuria (presence of bacteria without causing infection). The long stringy white stuff is protein or casts that have polymerized in the urine. If you have symptoms of UTI, then you can be treated, but if not then you do not need immediate treatment. Repeat urinalysis for protein presence may be recommended at this time. ...Read more

Is it normal to show no white blood cells in a urine test when showing high levels of nitrates in urine test?
Lab data: Without a full medical history and physical exam cannot possibly theorize about what this may be. It certainly indicates a need for further investigation and should not be ignored. Good luck. ...Read more
What does these results indicate in a urine test: occasional red blood cells and pus cells. Few epithelial cells seen. Colour light yellow. Clear. Ph6.5. Protein, nitrate, sugar, bile pigment, casts, crystals, organisms NIL. Pain while urinating.
Had blood and urinalysis 7/15. Blood work was all normal but urine showed creatinine level of 409, trace protein, trace leukocyte esterase, WBC, hyali?
Stop worrying: I understand you have fibromuscular dysplasia of the renal arteries and hope this can be addressed. The urine creatinine, trace protein and hyaline casts are non-issues, the trace of leukocyte esterase and white cells (unless very numerous or you have symptoms of infection) are likely contamination, and if your physician is not concerned, I would not be either. Best wishes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What does high white blood cell but no nitrites in urine mean? My urine culture came back clean but have high white blood cell count.
What might be cause of trace ketones and moderate blood in routine urine sample. NO RBC in urine though. My non-fasting glucose was 102. ?
Few issues: It is abnormal to have blood in thevurine. So this must be accounted for. Now if you are on a period or kidney stones this may account for the blood. But must know the cause. So hydrate well and go back to doctor for another sample to see if the blood is gone. If not you may have to do further testing ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Urine: Albumin shows protein in the urine, leukocytes go with inflammation or infection, plus you have small amount of blood and white blood cells in the urine. All can go with a UTI. Was there nitrites in urine? Hopefully, they sent out a urine culture to check for infection. Follow up with your doc. ...Read more
