Two Eggs By Ultrasound
At 5 weeks 2 days transvaginal ultrasound only saw gestational sac after ivf. Should the yolk sac be visible by that time?
An ultraound, also known as a sonogram, is a painless and relatively inexpensive imaging test that utilizes sound waves instead of ionizing radiation. There are no side effects. Ultrasound can give us two-dimensional, and in some applications three-dimensional, images of structures and organs in virtually any part of the body. In addition to diagnostic uses, such as evaluating abnormalities in the abdomen, pelvis, and breast, ultrasounds are commonly used to guide needle and catheter placement in a variety of surgical ...Read more

Several reasons: There are several reasons fertilization fails. Could be egg, sperm or laboratory environment. Unfortunately, many times its hard to pin point the problem given the normal findings in the evaluation. Talk to your doctor to see what they think and how to avoid this outcome in the future. What is the IUI success rate with 2 follicles and donor sperm? 2 IUIs performed, one Sat. right before eggs released and one Sun. after eggs released
Lots of factors: There are a lot of factors that go into IUI success. The sperm quality, the egg quality, the age of the patient, the lining of the uterus, medical issues and others. Your doctor must have felt you were a good candidate. In about 10-14 days you are likely scheduled for a pregnancy test to determine if it was successful. Until then you have the challenge of waiting patiently. ...Read more
Ultrasound shows gestational age 6w4days. Yolk sac present only. Should there be an embryo? Heartbeat?
Aog by LMP : 6 6/7 weeks - aog by scan 5 weeks by gs.. is this normal? Which one shud i follow? Irregular periods.
Irregular periods: This would be a much easier question to answer if your periods were regular. In general, if you are very sure of your LMP then I would recommend dating based off of your LMP. But since the Ultrasound was performed early in the first trimester I think it would be safe to go with that estimation. As always, you can never predict an exact date but these can be helpful to give you a good ballpark rang ...Read more

My ICSI doc said they could retreive only 02 eggs out of 09 follicles(>16mm) grown by super ovulation.can follicle be empty? AMH & other hormones r ok
Controversial: This happens infrequently and the idea of "empty follicles" is controversial, but it may explain some cases. The worst case I ever had we got 2 eggs out of 22 follicles. there are other reason for not recovering eggs, mainly if the egg retrieval is too soon or too late after the trigger shot. ...Read more
When calculating the gestational age in IVF pregnancy, should we calculate from LMP or from day of embryo transfer?
Neither: the transferred embryo is already developed to a certain stage which your IVF facility can tell you. your LMP is very inexact and is just a guideline in non-IVF pregnancies. the date of conception is actually around day 14 of your cycle in a natural cycle and prior to the date of transfer in IVF. ...Read more
PMP bleeding: The ovaries after menopause shrink to the size of what we call streak ovaries and often times aren't visible on ultrasound or CT scan. In my last ultrasound I was told that my egg count was of 4. Does that mean that I only have 4 eggs till I menopause?
No: The fertility specialists use an ultrasound view of the ovaries to count the number of "antral follicles" seen. The number is called the "egg count", and sort of estimates how her total eggs situation is in her ovaries. If a woman has an average or normal egg count, then there is a better chance of her responding to fertility treatments. If a low egg count, the treatments may not work well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

If my blood test yesterday came back with a LH level of 71 and obgyn through ultrasound saw an egg and told me i was about to ovulate, when will I?
Also will low progesterone (2.1) cause for no fertilization?
Ovulation testing: Your Progesterone level should be done 7 days after the expected day of ovulation. No period for 8months went to doc did a transvaginal ultrasound results normal. They said I had eggs is there any chance I could get preg really fast?
Yes and no: Not having a period for 8 months isn't normal at age 21. I would worry that you have undiagnosed PCOS. Having said that, it's possible that you can get pregnant at any time, given that your cycle isn't regular, you might release an egg before you have a period. Anovulation is one of the hallmarks of PCOS, excess or unwanted hair is another. Have doc test your thyroid, and prolactin as well. ...Read more

Sounds like PCOS: About a week after taking Clomid (clomiphene) you should have a mature follicle about 18mm in size. If all the eggs are still small then it is not likely that you are ovulating. If you are still not ovulating on 150mg you may need to add metformin or fsh injections. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
