Get a prescription: I have found metanx which is a prescription "medical food" containing l-methylfolate (a suped up folic acid, b6 and b 12) to be very effective at reversing this effect. [sometimes, i take blood work to check vitamn b6, B12 levels before prescribing so not to give too much) highly effective treatment. ...Read more

Leg pain when walk. Only one leg. Pain is side of leg that runs down to toes.lower back pain. All this after working out . Tingling in toes. ?

Consider: Although could be very benign, such as strain/sprain; the description suggests a potential nerve compression in lower back, such as might be seen secondary to disc disruption. Would have your doctor evaluate this, and would place exercise currently on hold as potential for worsening if your work out injured you. ...Read more

Can a small bump that feels like it's in the vein running down the shin be blood clot? Feeling warmth and a bit of tingling in toes periodically

Can a small bump that feels like it's in the vein running down the shin be blood clot? Feeling warmth and a bit of tingling in toes periodically

Surface cord: The bump you feel could be a clot within a superficial vessel. These may cause pain and some redness, but rarely are the source of emboli to other organs. As a marker of a potential clotting disorder, it might bear evaluation to be sure there is no risk of deep vessel clots or a systemic disease that is creating the susceptibility. ...Read more

Solgar v formula multi vitamins which contain 75mg B6 i took for10 months i now have experienced tingling in toes legs arms is this dose too high?

Solgar v formula multi vitamins which contain 75mg B6 i took for10 months i now have experienced tingling in toes legs arms is this dose too high?

Most likely not: Vitamin b6 can cause neurological changes like paresthesias, but not usually with doses under 200 mg/day. These also dissipate when the dosing is stopped. If you're concerned about the amount of b6 in your vitamin, you could stop it for several weeks to see how or if your symptoms change. Please work with your doctor on this, since more evaluation may be needed. ...Read more

Soreness in calf and shin numbness tingling in toes no bruises or bumps no color change didn't do anything strenuous going on 2 days should I go to er?

ER is not necessary: This sounds like radiculopathy vs. a peripheral neuropathy. Seeing a Neurologist or PMR MD can distinguish using a EMG test. Treatment would include a possible neuropathic pain medication and/or therapy as well as evaluation via MRI for any changes in your spine. While a clot is a remote consideration, this can be evaluated by your primary care MD via Duplex US or the specialists noted. ...Read more

Numbness and tingling in toes and feet I have been suffering from a cookie cutter shape of numbness on the outer edge of my left foot including the last two toes for over 6 months. Neurologist said everything was good in a nerve connection test. Numbness

Routine : Routine nerve conduction tests don't check every nerve in the feet. If symptoms are related to the intensity of repetitive activity, such as walking, they may be caused by compression of smaller branch nerves that are not routinely tested by most neurologists. These nerves are frequently affected by footwear that doesn't fit as well as it should. In some cases, nerves anywhere from the spine down to the toes can get temporarily stretched or pinched in ways that are only apparent when the posture (such as being upright) or activity (such as walking) is occurring, and not in the usually lying and still position used in most tests. A podiatrist, a doctor who specializes in only the feet, may be a good place to get information and recommendations. ...Read more

Relapse: Guillain barre can relapse but other conditions are more likely to do so. Sounds like you are having a relapse of something. You need another exam, probably and emg/nerve conduction study, blood tests and possibly a spinal tap. ...Read more
