Prescribed Zoloft (sertraline) 50mg, should it be taken with food to help decrease chances of nausea? Can I still take sumatriptan 100mg for migraine as needed?

You can only: Under your physician supervision and expertize. Zoloft (sertraline) and sumatriptan both increase serotonin levels in the blood. Too much serotonin is a potentially a serotonin syndrome, life-threatening condition. The interaction is is unlikely, minor, or nonsignificant. Rec.: talk to your physician.

I took sumatriptan 2 in a half hours ago and still have a migraine. Is it safe to take a hydrocodone 5mg?

Safe yes, useful no.: Opiates like hydrocodone tend to make migraines worse more often than they help. Better to just relax in a dark place, put a cool cloth on your head and try to think pleasant thoughts. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Can one build a tolerance to imitrex (sumatriptan)?

In a way: There does seem to be a waxing and waning effect of many headache medications, and a drug that works well for years can become less effective with time. In addition, using Imitrex (sumatriptan) more than 2-3 times per week can lead to the development of a medication overuse headache, which is very difficult to effectively treat. You may wish to consider adding a prophylactic medication.
