I eat a lot of spinach during the week and ate a bunch last night. I had two dark stools this morning. Could that be the cause?
Could be, but...: Your stool color can be affected by what you have eaten, but one must be careful with dark stools. Black stools, particularly when foul-smelling and pasty, can be a sign of internal bleeding. If you are uncertain whether this could be due to bleeding, see your doctor or go to the emergency room immediately. Good luck. ...Read more
From last two days I got blood in my stools. It was rich dark red and I guess there is a cut near the hole from excrete pass. Please help.
Blood in stool: Blood in the stool is never normal. But it sounds like there is a fissure (ie, cut) on your anus. Fissures are often from mechanical irritation (ie, wiping). Also, hard feces in constipation often is attributed to fissures. But in your case, if your stool is dark red, it may indicate blood that is coming somewhere within the intestine itself — in which case, I recommend getting it checked out. ...Read more

Can antibiotics (Cipro) affect BMs? Have been on antibiotics for about a week and the last two days my stool appears darker and has a bit of mucus
Yes- definitely: Antibiotics kill every bacterium that is susceptible-so we hope this effect extends to the bacteria causing an infection, but there can be side effects such as wiping out the GOOD bacteria in your gut. As a result, it's quite common to see changes in the bowels. Hopefully though this is just temporary. If u are concerned, call the doc who prescribed the antibiotics to begin with. They need to know. ...Read more

Black little dots in stool. Would colon cancer stools be thin one day then be normal the next? I did have blood in stools for two days only last week
Not sure: I am assuming that you do not have a significant family history for colon cancer. Colon cancer can result in thin stools but I would think that they stay that way. Blood in the stool can indicate possible colon tumor(polyp) or cancer but it not very common for patients your age. I would reccomend that you see a dr. To find out the cause of your bleeding.
