My groin /thigh are sore to touch, could this be hip bursitis? It hurts when getting out of chair and of bed. Inversion table caused more pain.

Not likely: Groin pain that is tender is more likely tendonitis or muscle strain injury. Hip bursitis is much more common on the 'outside' of your hip (greater trochanter)and usually is painful to sleep on the affected side. Mgt: The D Dimer and chest radiograph may not be fully accurate in the diagnosis of a thrombosis or embolism. With your symptoms, I would advise having a V/Q scan of your chest and another ultrasound of your lower extremities including upper legs.

Not surprising: You may be experiencing some inflammatory arthritis. Unlike osteoarthritis, that sometimes gets worse with use, inflammatory arthritis may get better with use. You become more aware of it at night because you have nothing else to think about.
