It : It is possible that one of you were carrying the virus for an extended period. It does not necessarily mean anyone is cheating. If you had any type of STD and symptoms then got tested 2 years after if you really had the diseasewill it still be positive?

It depends: A std acquired and treated 2 years ago may cause a positive test result. Tests for syphilis usually remain positive after treatment. Antibody tests for herpes will also remain positive. If a test for chlamydia or gonorrhea is positive it is likely that either the std was not completely treated originally or re-infection occurred. Either way, treatment is needed. ...Read more

Can I have an STD for years without any symptoms?

Latent Syphilis: I agree with the prior answer. Syphilis also should be mentioned. Syphilis has a primary stage with genital skin ulceration, then follows a secondary stage with more widespread skin rashes. But the following latent or tertiary stage is downright scary. It may last for years with gradual damage to may body systems, potientially causing severe neurologic damage, even death. Get tested. ...Read more

Not clear.: You need to have this checked. It is most likely not serious but might need biopsied. The better part of medicine is to have it checked by a gyn and see if any treatment is required. I would not be worried at this time. ...Read more

Warming sensation in penis which comes and goes for two years. Had 5 urinalysis/STD tests & cystoscopy all Negative. What else could this be?

Nothing serious: No STD or other infection is a likely cause of such symptoms. It's good you were tested to be safe, but I would have stopped after the first negative results. The cystoscopy means nothing wrong with your bladder. Even if the symptoms continue and are unexplained, for sure you have nothing harmful. Some people just have to live with symptoms of unknown cause but do so easily once known not serious. ...Read more

I am a male 26 years of age I recently did blood work came back clean no std nothing however two bumps came up between the shaft and head of my penis?

Need more specifics: Without a detailed history of the specifics & relevance of the bumps + a direct look & palpation, it is hard to tell what these 2 bumps may be. At this point for a 26-yr man, the odd to have malignancy should be next to zero. Clinically, it could be sebaceous cysts or indurated sclerotic vein or Peyronie's disease. See Your Doctor: Your description suggests a condition called Hypospadias where the urethral opening is abnormally located on underside of penis; the abnormal anatomy may also cause 2 streams. Additionally, Hypospadias can be associated w/ another condition called Chordee: an abnormal downward curvature of penis. Burning could be due to exposed urethra. What is painful bumps on your vagina filled with puss followed by blood once you pop them? What is this symptom called? I know it's not an STD because I've been tested several times over the past 5 years of having this. I have been celibate for the past 10

You : You may be having a recurrent infection with boils. Boils usually start out as tender, red areas which become hard and then eventually develop a "head" of white pus. Once this drains, the area usually heals on its own. Most of these are caused by staphylococcus aureas, a common bacterium found on the skin. Occasionally, however, the can be caused by mrsa, the antibiotic resistent kind of staph bacteria.

Next time you develop one of these infections, start out by applying warm compresses to the area to help draw the infection out. Then, you should see your doctor so that they can drain it, test for what bacteria is causing it and be able to treat you appropriately — sometimes with antibiotics, sometimes just with drainage. If you ever develop fever, chills, or feel ill with this infection, call your doctor immediately. Don't be embarrassed about seeing your doctor — we see this kind of thing all the time and we're here to help, not judge.

You can try to prevent these infections by practicing good hygiene and using anti-bacterial soaps. Your doctor may have other suggestions for prevention. Good luck! ...Read more

Ovarian : Ovarian cysts can be very painful. They often come at midcycle then resolve. Once a cyst has been identified, it should be periodically re-checked until it resolves. If a patient has increased pain, is pregnant, has vomiting, or fever then they should be seen by their doctor as soon as possible. There are no-cost and low-cost clinics that can follow a cyst if it is not an emergency. Planned parenthood and other clinics can follow cysts or give recommendations for where patients can obtain follow-up ultrasounds. ...Read more
