Std Symptoms After Two Years
No: Usually, HIV presents with a tonsillitis presentation about 4 weeks after initial exposure (fever, sore throat, body aches, lymph node enlargement) but then it subsides to emerge as aids years ago, although, cases of less latency (1-2 years) have been described. At 3 months, infected patients don't normally have any symptoms. ...Read more
This is a disease which can be transmitted from one person to another person through sexually related activities. This does not limit these activities to heterosexual intercourse, but encompasses all modalities of human-to-human sexual activity. I got treated for chlamydia, haven't had any sexual intercourse now two weeks later the symptoms are back. Why?
May not be the same: If you received the correct antibiotic treatment and you were not exposed again it would not be likely to not have had resolution of the infection. What could have happened is that the antibiotic led to a yeast infection and those symptoms are being mistaken for the original chlamydia infection. You need to see your medical provider to confirm and if that is the case the treatment is easy. ...Read more
I had a risky sexual encounter over ten years ago. I took two oraquick tests a couple of weeks ago both negative. Are they reliable after ten years?
If i get tested for HIV 8 weeks after exposure and i already had primary infection symptoms 47 days after exposure, is reliable?
Completely reliable: First, primary HIV symptoms always start by10-15 days. Symptoms starting at 47 days are not due to HIV from that exposure. Second, all currently standard HIV blood tests, i.e. newer antibody tests ("3rd generation") or antigen-antibody tests ("4th generation") are conclusive at 8 weeks. Assuming no exposure more recently, you don't have HIV. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Possibility of OHL without HIV? Always protected sex but unprotected oral with partner tested neg after 6 month test, symptoms started days after.
I'd have to see you: However, before you go self-diagnosing oral hairy leukoplakia with zero history of any risky HIV behavior, you're going to need to get seen just for your peace of mine. If you have an actual oral lesion suspicious for this rare lesion, you'll visit an otolaryngologist. And the bottom line is you need an HIV test for peace of mind. You can get one tomorrow. Rest up, be brave, and I hope it's okay. ...Read more

Is it possible to get Chlamydia symptoms many months later I haven't been sexually active since before December of last year?
Very unlikely: It would be unlikely to get symptoms of chlamydia (or any other STD) more than a couple of weeks after catching it. You don't say what symptoms you have, but if no sex for mroe than 6 months, probably they aren't due to any STD affecting the genital area, urinary tract, etc. But stop guessing or trying to figure it out from online forums. See your doctor for proper evaluation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

On occasion, the initial antibiotic treatment will not cure the infection. Re-testing is the best way to ensure cure. ...Read more
I requested a HPV test after testing negative the past five years ( five years ago I had cervical hpv). If it comes out negative am I still contagious?
No need for retest: It was a mistake to have another HPV test. if you have been sexually active in the past 5 years, probably you have been reexposed and likely reinfected with HPV. A positive result now probably would not be recurrence of your past infection. Regardless of your new test result, you can safely assume that previous infection is gone and no longer contagious. Your more recent infection(s)? Maybe. ...Read more
