I have pain in my left knee when standing from crouching, shooting pains down my left thigh and pain in my left hip when i walk to far? Any ideas?
ITB syndrome : It could be iliotibial band syndrome. It is common in runners, and can cause pain in the side of the hip or lateral thigh or just below the knee. Tendonitis likely: Sounds like achilles tendonitis if the pain originates from that thick tendon on your heel up to your calf. The most dangerous thing would be a blood clot in your leg, typically occurs after travel or sedentary lifestyle and you get swelling in leg. Tendonitis: Achilles area pain often is tendonitis. If the tendon is tender to the touch, esp. more than the opposite side, then it's probably the Achilles. Consider causes (exercise, poor footwear, etc.) and try to avoid exacerbating factors. Rest, ice, a short-course of NSAIDs, better shoes would be considerations. You're too tight: This is simply a lack of flexibility in your hamstring and calf muscles. A couple ....: ..of possibilities. I suspect piriformis syndrome. This pain is caused from pressure applied to the sciatic nerve by the piriformis muscle as it passes through or under this muscle. It can also be caused by nerve compression in the lumbar spine/sciatica. Stretch/strengthen of hip flexors/piriformis may help; consider visit to Sports Med/PT for instruction. Knee vs back?: From this description, it is hard to say for sure. Your prior knee event suggests maybe and injury to the soft tissues outside, or inside the knee.
