Upper spinal and muscle pain after l5s1 lumbar discectomy sugery for 9 wks now,no fever but pain radiate to front rib for 2 days and sweat.normal?
Possibly: However, you should continue to see your spine surgeon regularly until at least 6 months post op and inform her or him of these symptoms. It is possible you are having a nerve impingement syndrome or muscle spasm. It should be fully evaluated, thus an MRI or EMG may be in order. Also have you started PT to strengthen your core, as that would be the next step !!! keep me posted. ...Read more
Can multilevel, severe thoracic disc desiccation result in upper left back pain after eating? Thanks.
I am having severe bowel pain following a total robotic assisted laproscopic hysterectomy 1 week ago today. Surgery pain is minimal. Bm pain high. Why?
Position: While shoulder pain is often attributed to irritation if the diaphragm by carbon dioxide gas uses in laparpscopy, back pain is most often a consequence of laying down flat on your back without moving while under general anesthesia. It should be self limited, and when postop pain permits, some back stretching may help. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Commonly seen: In laparoscopic surgery, the abdomen is inflated with carbon dioxide (CO2) gas to make a "cave" that the surgeon can see/work in. At the end of the case, the CO2 gas is removed, but invariably, some remains beneath the diaphragms. The "pain" nerves of the shoulder are the same as the diaphragm. Therefore, patients often complain of shoulder pain after laparoscopic surgery. ...Read more
I have severe pain right rib. Gall bladder removed. Surgery for post surgery hernia, found disconnected rib. Pain stops life, and sleep. What now ?
Could lower back pain that radiates around hip to 4 1/2 month iguinal laproscopic hernia repair be olioiguinal nerve pain or reoccurrence ?
Doubtful: While it is possible, it doesn't sound like that type of pain. Ilioinguinal nerve is also well away from the space where a laparoscopic inguinal hernia is. It could come in to play however if a tack was placed too deeply at the upper outer edge of the mesh. See your surgeon to find out if its bad enough. Recurrence would be more likely if there is a return of preop symptoms or a reducible bulge. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Surgical site pain 12 days post leep, ranging from dull to severe. Abdominal ache and tenderness, intermittent strong flank pain and headache ?
Can abdominal scar tissue come back after being surgically removed? Still having chronic lower right abdominal pain after tah and abd exploratory surg
Very difficult: Intra abdominal scar tissue is a very difficult thing to prevent following any surgical procedure. Many attempts at irrigating, washing and even bathing the organs in various solutions to minimize scar tissue and subsequent adheres ions have been tried with mixed success. You may benefit from time to allow the initial scar to subside but any post surgical pain should be reported to the surgeon. ...Read more
Had c4,5,6 laminectomy 2011 for severe central stenosis. 8 weeks constant pain, numb in shoulder/arm-3 level ACDF proposed. alternative? Complications
Need more info: Where is your pain? If it is neck pain, ACDF is a viable option. If it is pain in the arms, then there may be foraminal narrowing compressing your nerves that can be addressed by ACDF or posterior foraminotomies. If it is both, ACDF is best. As for the shoulder/arm numbness, this is a common complaint after cervical laminectomies and can get better over long time. Make sure you go over everything ...Read more
Lower right abdominal pain, with hip tenderness accompanied by nausea and radiating lower back pain. Two endometriosis surgeries already and 6 months of lupron (leuprolide). Also had an appentectomy. Is the endo back!?
Surg. complication?: It would appear either the original process continues unabated or there is a surgical complication. I suggest you see the original surgeon (probably your ob-gyn doc). ...Read more
