Skin laxity?: The results of liposuction on your chin/neck will depend on the quality and laxity of your skin and its ability to contract following fat evacuation. If sufficient fat is removed, you may be left with loose or irregular skin. Generally speaking, at 38 years of age, your skin contraction is not as good as it would be for some one under 30. First 24-48 hrs: Vaser liposuction uses ultrasound energy to help facilitate traditional liposuction. With any kind of liposuction there will be some postoperative swelling. Most of it goes away in the first month. Then it may take another five months for the rest of the swelling to go away completely. I usually tell patients they can stand in front of the mirror and see final results at about six months. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Will chin liposuction leave me with loose skin in my neck? Or will the skin shrink back on its own after the chin liposuction procedure?
No: Liposuction is performed through very small incisions. It is not necessary to places stitches in the incisions. I used to place stitches, but now i leave them open so that all the fluid drains out. Liposuction question is the removal of belly fat by liposuction ever done under local anesthetics?
Liposuction : Liposuction can be done under local anesthesia. The real question is whether or not you really want it done under local anesthesia. Generally speaking, every procedure we do can be done under local. However, general anesthesia is used by many surgeons to make the patient as comfortable as possible. Patients have absolutely no pain with general anesthesia during the procedure. They also do not remember any portion of the procedure. With local you would be fully awake for the entire procedure and may have moments where you do feel pain. Also, in order to keep you comfortable you might need a large amount of local which may approach or exceed the usual limits of that medication. In my practice, unless we are planning one small area, i recommend general anesthesia for my patients' comfort. I hope this info helps! ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
