Herpes simplex is usually ON the mouth where the skin of the chin connects with the mucous membrane of the lip!
Kissing can transmit Herpes..... (with ACTIVE SORES!)
Deviled eggs CANNOT!

White tongue could very well be related to the hairlike projections that grow on the tongue. Try brushing it more. Tonsils swelling is a normal immune response to any kind of infection. Tricky: Dermatologic conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them., but white spots often are normally present on the tongue. The only common std associated with kissing (herpes) just doesn't sound anything like that:
it's red blistery
somewhat sore on the outside at the edges of the lips
