You can take over the counter antihistamines like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the itching, but the soreness is strange and could mean it is something more than just an allergy. Possobly hives: If the itchy bumps go away in 24 hrs, and then come back; or they have an appearance of " moving around", they are probably hives.
