Still ask your doc: Since you have come this far in evaluation and care, it would be most logical and beneficial for you to bring all of your concerns and questions to your doctors since they would know your individual conditions more than anyone online. More online sporadic inquiry at this time may induce more unnecessary anxiety and fear. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Help with blood results: EBV VCA IgG >8.0, EBV IgM neg. CMV antibody IgG 38, EBV NA antibody >8.0. Can it explain my body aches? Why or why not?
Old infection: with EBV is the pattern of IgG positive (including NA) and IgM negative. I assume the CMV which is a different infection is also the IgG? If so, both are old infections and do not usually explain your current symptoms. This is a pattern that shows immunity to these infections. Look for other causes. ...Read more

EBV early antigen Ab, IgG <9; EBV Eb, VcA, IgG >600; EBV nuclear antigen Ab IgG 108. Diagnossed with CAEBV infection. Does this sound right to you?
Maybe.: The profile is of a past infection. I am not sure if it can be diagnosed just by symptoms and evidence of past infection. I think you would need the second criteria of diagnosis which is DNA of EBV in peripheral tissue or blood detectable through PCR test with a low anti-EA. What is the significance of positive mycoplasma IgG and IgM antibody titers in patients with dysautonomia or pots and chronic fatigue?
Uncertain: Research to answer this question has not yet been satisfactorily performed. There are several illnesses with which mycoplasmal infection has purported to have been associated, including coronary artery disease. Antibodies to this organism, whether igg or igm do not prove active infection, to say nothing about causation of other illnesses. The theory is interesting and deserves further study. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What does all this mean? My herpes results from the lab! Doc wasn't helpful
HSV serology: Without knowing specifically what test technique was utilized cannot give you specifics other than to say that you have had Herpes simplex Type 1 infection sometime in the past and probably have not had Type 2, since even though you show some antibody it may be overlap from the Type 1 antibody. Why wasn't the doctor helpful? Talk to them and insist. Why did you do this anyway? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Maybe none: We need a lot more information. The positive ANA may not indicate anything. Just because there is a positive ANA does not mean you have lupus. The low IgA and low pneumococcal antibodies may not cause any symptoms. Your evaluation should include pneumococcal antigen stimulation to see if you are responsive. You need further evaluation. ...Read more
VZV IgG titer= 1926, VZV IgM titer >3.91 with reactivated shingles present. What does test mean? Active VZV infection? Is 1926 dangerously high.
Reactivated EBV 9 months after first infection. Could i be immunodeficient? Antibody count: 65 ab VCA igm; 53 ea ab igg; 431 ab VCA igg; 289 ebna igg.
No: Unfortunately ebv stays alive forever in one's lymphocytes and can get activated easily in susceptible people without known immunodeficiency. However you may call that an immunodeficiency given that all people have been infected with it yet only few would have recurrent ebv problem. ...Read more
I've been sick for about 3 weeks, mostly fatigue. My EBV levels are VCA IgG 153, VCA IgM <10, early AG IgG 25.7, nuclear antigen IgG 158. Any ideas?
No idea: First you would need to give us more details on the sickness other than just fatigue. The tests you have had are not helpful in making a diagnosis. I would recommend that you consult an internist to get a thorough workup since there are many causes for fatigue= both physiologic and psychologic. ...Read more
What does a high EBV viral nuclear capsid antibody, a high EBV viral capsid antibody IgG and a high IgM EBV viral capsid antibody mean, what's it mean?
Likely immunity,,: You've got antibodies to the ebv which likely means you were infected at some time in your life and you recovered and now your body has circulating antibodies to it. An igg antibody in particular indicates long term resistance. This virus usually causes asymptomatic infection so you probably fought it off and weren't aware of it. Best of luck. ...Read more

Is this a lab error for Hepatitis B?: HBsAg(-), HBsAe(+), AntiHBc(+), AntiHBc IgM(-), AntiHBc IgG(-), AntiHBs(-). Repeated 3 more times with all (-)
False positive tests: With negative results on three more tests, almost certainly the positive results were false. This isn't necessarily a lab error, just a glitch in the biology of the test. That is, there probably is nothing the lab could have done to either cause or prevent it. In any case, you don't have hepatitis B. If potentially at risk, e.g. sexually active and not monogamous, get vaccinated. ...Read more
After mono infection IgG stays + and IgM declines. But why would my IgG be 5.14 and IgM be 0.69 when in august IgG was 3.44 and IgM was 0.55. Curious?
EBV: There is a good article by ralf d. Hess in the j clin microbiol. 2004 august; 42(8): 3381–3387. Suggest you go on line to medline or library of congress and read this. Too complicated to explain here. ...Read more
Past EBV infection: The presence of igg to the ebv capsule means that your body was exposed at some time in the past to ebv and made antibodies against it. It is at its highest level 2-3 months after the initial infection, and it will always be present. An elevated igm level would be consistent with current/recent infection. ...Read more
