Pregnancy After Tubal Ligation
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
It depends: I see two ways to answer your question. The overall number of ectopic pregnancies following a tubal ligation is 7 per 1, 000 procedures (under 1 percent). However, if someone conceives after she has had a tubal ligation, the chance of that pregnancy being ectopic is as high as 50 percent. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Is pregnancy possible after tubal ligation? My last period was not normal, very light and spotty. This period is kinda abnormal. Bleeding but no cramping. My feet are seriously swollen..Also not normal for me. I took 3 test a few weeks ago and they were f
There : There is always a chance that a tubal ligation failed to completely occlude the tube. Your 11 year history of no pregnancy would suggest that this was an effective procedure if you were sexually active during this period. Three faint positive home pregnancy tests however are very suggestive that you were pregnant. If you plan to be sexually active and rely on the tubal ligation for contraception, i would strongly recommend getting a procedure called a hysterosalpingogram (hsg) to check if your tubes are occluded or not. A tube which is not completely occluded can allow a pregnancy to occur in the fallopian tube (ectopic pregnancy) which can be a very dangerous condition. If the two negative tests were taken on later days, this could have been an early pregnancy that stopped on its own. The safest thing to do to interpret what is happening now is to get your doctor to order a blood pregnancy test (quantitative HCG serum test). ...Read more
What is the possability and risks of pregnancy occuring after both a tubal ligation with a uteral ablation! how rare is it and can it occur twice?
Much less than 1%: Endometrial ablation is not a sterilization procedure and cannot be relied on for pregnancy prevention, though it probably reduces the risk. Most methods of tubal ligation have failure rates of less than 1%, so one can get pregnant after having both and lightning can strike twice! ...Read more

I have had a tubal ligation done eight years ago i was wondering is it possible still get pregnant? Because i seem to be having pregnancy symptoms.
Tubals can fail: Not very often but easy to check a urine preg test , if - and u are still worried see your gyn for a blood preg test which will be + a few days before the missed period and if u are preg- hopefully not - your obgyn needs to follow u closely since u would be more at risk for a tubal( ectopic pregnancy) due to the fact you had a tubal and the tubes were damaged by the tubal. ...Read more
