Pet In The Home (Overview)

Pregnant women are often advised not to clean cat litter boxes and to avoid sick cats. The risk of acquiring toxoplasmosis is the reason for these warnings. A woman infected while pregnant may not even know she has toxoplasmosis, but she has a 50% chance of passing the infection on to her child. During the first trimester, an infant has a 17% chance of contracting toxoplasmosis from an infected mother. Estimated to range from 1 in 1,000 to 1 in 8,000 births each year in the United States, babies born with the illness can have consequences such as blindness, hydrocephalus, jaundice, eye lesions, and neurological problems.

What is the best elevation for put a hepa air filter in the home?

What is the best elevation for put a hepa air filter in the home?

HEPA filter: I'm not sure of your question. A HEPA filter is used to trap small allergens. So the best place to put the filter would be to place it on the air return vents of your heating/cooling system. If you are asking about floor vs table, place on table. If you're asking about elevation above sea level, then all houses could benefit if the homeowners have allergy symptoms. Hope this helps. ...Read more

What is the best elevation for put a hepa air filter in the home? (I have allergys)

What is the best elevation for put a hepa air filter in the home? (I have allergys)

Not effective: Whole house HEPA may reduce dust mite count but does not improve allergic symptoms. Sometimes I recommend HEPA for the bedroom w/ pet allergy. It is more important as to how much air change it provides than where it is placed. The only kind that works is a HEPA hood above your head & this would not likely be tolerated by most people. I think an allergist will be able to offer you some guidance. ...Read more
