Your complaints sound musculoskeletal and you should get a full history and exam by your physician. Try to rest, use ice, NSAIDs if no bleeding risk and make an appointment or go to Urgent Care, which requires no appointments. Don't be scared, see your MD. You're going to be okay. ...Read more

Severe lower right quad. Pain. Have complex ovarian cyst. Have gained 4 inches in waist and hips in a month but no weight gain. Could it be from cyst?

Maybe: Ovarian cysts can get large. They can cause pain, and also predispose to ovarian torsion, which cuts off the blood supply to the ovary, causes severe pain, and requires emergent medical attention. There are other causes of severe right lower quadrant pain that have nothing to do with the ovaries, like appendicitis. Please seek medical attention ASAP. ...Read more

I recently had a MRI on my hips which shows mildly complex heterogeneous ovarian cyst and presence of free fluid within the pelvis How serious is this

Hard to say: It is hard to say since there are many different causes of these findings. The first thing recommended should be a pelvic ultrasound with doppler flow studies. The cyst can be a functional cyst with hemorragh (caused by the function of the ovary-ovulation), an endometrioma, a cystic teratoma or dermoid, or a cancer. The doppler flow will be increased if it is cancer. ...Read more
