Its time to get help: At this point in your life, the smaller issue is whether or not a test with be positive. For some tests,9 days is outside the window of detection, but its impossible to say.It would be better to see an Addiction specialist,a therapist &join a support gp to address the real reasons behind your use.If your only worry is to"outsmart the test"your underlying problem w/recreational use will be reinforced ...Read more

Bipolar(controlled -lamictal, carbamazepine), anxiety-semi-under control (lorazepam, temazepam, cymbalta) and ADD problematic- considering Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) ?

Bipolar(controlled -lamictal, carbamazepine), anxiety-semi-under control (lorazepam, temazepam, cymbalta) and ADD problematic- considering Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) ?

So much medication: It might be necessary to take some drugs but I question the risks already and adding the new one is especially bad w/ cymbalta (duloxetine). It can cause severe anxiety! Also serotonin syndrome. Almost all of your meds combine to cause a host of symptoms like dizziness, confusion and general impairment. Please consider a good psych eval and adding good psychotherapy to lower need for Rx and help them work! ...Read more

Which antidepressant drug has less sexual dysfunction side effects: Effexor (venlafaxine) XR or Prozac?

Which antidepressant drug has less sexual dysfunction side effects: Effexor (venlafaxine) XR or Prozac?

Hard to say: Both agents have sexual dysfunction as potential side effects. Around 20-30% of chances. It depends on individual susceptibility and also it varies upon the dose. So the lower the dose, less the risk . In my experience however, Effexor (venlafaxine) XR would be less prone to cause it than Prozac. ...Read more

Which is a safer, lower side effect profile drug, topamax (topiramate) or oxcarbazapine (in general terms, obv individuals vary)?

Don't 2nd guess: Neither is w/o risk and they are Rx'd for different (w/ overlap) conditions. You need to work w/ your Dr on selecting the best for you - say clearly that safety is impt to you. Know what they expect it to for your condition. Side EFX are pretty similar for both - your other health issues might be the swing vote. ...Read more

Safe amount of acetaminophen a day if I take a Trileptal 1200 mg/day a know inducer of CYP (increased toxic acetaminophen metabolite)?

Tylenol (acetaminophen) dosage: in general for most patients the maximum daily dose should be 3000 mg daily of Acetominophen but if you are taking a medication which can affect the metabolism of it you might want to limit the dose of Acetominophen to 2000 or 2500 mg a daily. Also I would avoid alcohol usage when taking Trileptal and Acetominophen ...Read more
