I think (staph) infection in toe. Pus from the toe just squirted into my eye (don't ask :/). Is this dangerous for my eye? What should I do?
Probably OK: The eye is terrific at cleaning itself out. The pus that squirted in was mostly blinked out and the rest flushed out by cleansing tears. Only if you find over the next several days that the eye gets red and irritated should you seek medical attention. I am guessing you flushed your eye out with clean water right after the exposure. ...Read more

I been DX with cellulitis and staph infection, the only medicine works is Vancomycin 1.2g.the dr won't listen to me about the meds that work for me.
Stick with vanco!: Your doctor is correct. Past antibiotics that "work for you" are irrelevant. Infection cure depends only on the bacteria causing it and which are antibiotics active against it. Don't mess with this. Staph cellulitis can be very dangerous and you might have MRSA; vancomycin is normal Rx to start. Maybe possible to change later if lab testing shows other antibiotic is active against your own staph. ...Read more

Staph infection: I assume you talking about treatment of skin and soft tissue due to MRSA. It depends on how severe the infection is. With small skin abscess I& D is enough. Choice of antibiotics depends on local resistance, labs and culture results and preference of the physician. ...Read more

Check the nose: Using lotion on your face should not be a problem after a staph infection. However, you may want your doctor to check and see if you are colonized by the staph bacteria in your nostrils. This can be done by simply doing a culture from the nostrils. If it is positive, then treating the bacteria there with a topical ointment may help keep you from getting another infection. ...Read more
