No Sex In Years Pelvic Pain
Hi, I've had my Skyla IUD for 2 years now, and every so often I experience strange pelvic pain. It used to be after I had a lot of sex, but now I'm now I'm not, and each time I've had it checked (twice), the doctor says they can see/feel the strings?
OK: As long as your pain in infrequent, minor, does not stop you from functioning, transient, with no other symptoms, just monitor the situation, you still have about a year with Skyla. Though Skyla may be causing the pelvic pain, it is not necessarily so. ...Read more

Endometriosis: Women who have a hysterectomy secondary to pelvic pain due to endometriosis, can still have pelvic pain after hysterectomy. I'm not sure why your ovaries would have been removed at age 27, unless you had cancer? I would definitely see your gynecologist as it sounds as if you have no female pelvic organs left to have pain from. Possible that it's musculoskeletal or gastrointestinal as well. ...Read more

I had a partial hysterectomy over 5 years ago. I noticed a bloody discharge when I wiped, but nothing after that. No bleeding or any pelvic pain. Is t?
Cervix in or out?: If your "partial hysterectomy" means that the cervical stump remains then you need to have your GYN MD check for cervical lesions including a pap smear. Cervical cancer can occur in the remaining stump and endometrial tissue from an incomplete cervical/uterine removal can bleed. No cervix present can yield bleeding from the vaginal cuff post intercourse. Get examined by your GYN surgeon soon. ...Read more

I have chronic lower abdominal/ pelvic pain that is accompanied by lower back pain. I've had this for two years. Still no answers. What could this be?
Tough case: Chronic pelvic pain is one of the more difficult diagnoses to pin down. If it is cyclical (worse with periods) then consider endometriosis as a likely possibility. You might need a laparoscopy to make the diagnosis, as ultrasound is often not helpful. Other possibilities are urinary tract, bowel, or musculoskeletal related pain. You may need to see several docs to be sure. Good luck with this! ...Read more
