Avoid combination: Both Zyrtec & Benadryl (diphenhydramine) are antihistamines and as such, should not be taken together in same 24hr period due to potential interactions (http://www.drugs.com/interactions-check.php?drug_list=896-1617,569-286). Ask your doctor: Ask the doctor ordering the test what s/he wants you to do. Gastric parietal cells respond to at least 3 triggers to secrete stomach acid: gastrin, acetylcholine (muscarinic receptors), and histamine (h2 receptors). You're also on cimetadine. Mirtazepine does have a strong antihistaminic and some anticholinergic effects. Fluvoxamine ; venlafaxine are reportedly devoid of these effects. ...Read more
