Went for a microscopic urinalysis results - mucus present and urine culture- organisms recovered in low numbers. What do these mean? Infection?

Intermittent terminal hematuria,but dipstick negative. Could microscopic urianalysis reveal bladder cancer? If urianalysis negative, what other cause?
Normal ranges: The urinalysis report should contain a normal reference range for each item tested. If there are any tests that fall out of that range, it will be flagged as abnormal. That is probably a: normal looking urine, with some asymptomatic bacteriuria (presence of bacteria without causing infection). The long stringy white stuff is protein or casts that have polymerized in the urine. If you have symptoms of UTI, then you can be treated, but if not then you do not need immediate treatment. Need clarification: We need a lot more information on the type of protein, on the cell count, Cass, and other substance seen in the urine. You need to have the urine repeated, best first thing in the morning when your hydration allows a concentrated urine. You also need some blood testing to clarify and possibly further analysis. Mostly: Nitrite reagent in dipstick works for most gram negative organisms, but does show gram positive bacteria like enterococcus, staphlococcus or streptococcus etc.. Latter 2 are considered "skin" organisms but can be cause of utis in some, especially subjects on intermittent catheterization. Leucoocte esterase for wbcs in urine usually but, not always reliable. Having these cells in your urine when there is no infection likely means that they are coming from the area surrounding your urethra - vagina, vulva as possibilities - if this was a specimen collected by urinating in a cup. See below: If the diet is lacking in nitrates, lack of nitrite in urine is meaningless. There may be infection with organisms that do not make nitrite, or the infection may be in the urethra.
