Best treatment is a small injection of anesthesia and steroid into the specific area of the SI ligament. Depending on injury, could also be a hop labral tear that can give same symptoms. Hip labral debridement 2 weeks ago - still have groin pain, but now a bad ache, thigh pain and low back pain also - is this normal? Not on crutches

How can I differentiate whether my hip and groin pain is nerve or muscle related? Have had lower back pain, but MRI looks good.

Hip: The t12 or L1 nerve from the low back can certainly cause pain that wrapped around and goes into the groin, but by far, the most common reason for groin pain (besides an inguinal hernia) is a hip joint issue. Hip joint arthritis will usually be painful when i rotate the thigh bone inward when the patient is seated. Also, in younger patients, a hip labral tear needs to be considered. ...Read more

Rheumatism: You are describing SI joint pain and some signs of systemic disease. SI joint is frequent in RA but the hands are the most diagnostic. Multiple joints affected is the hallmark of RA. Still, there are many other forms of systemic arthritis. I would be suspicious but the diagnosis would be incomplete. Give it a few months to check progression. Meanwhile, intelligent exercise is the key. ...Read more
