Hello,: Hello, some people do apply orajelÂ® to the tongue. The danger is if your tongue becomes numb, you could very easily bite it and thus injure it more. The other problem is if you had an allergic reaction, your tongue could swell. Cough drops that contain Benzocaine or menthol would also provide some numbing action. For an acute burn, consider dipping your tongue in very cold water or sucking gently on a popsicle. Yogurt with active cultures can be helpful. Please do not put adult orajelÂ® on a babyâ€™s tongue.
