If pancreatic cancer was indeed the cause of symptoms (urq disc & occ. Floating stool) wouldn't it be advanced enough to show on CT or blood work?
Cancer phobia: Of course. It's human to be concerned about cancer because it is deadly if it cannot be treated, and there's so much misinformation. The "floating stools" of pancreatic cancer are obviously abnormal and are accompanied by obvious jaundice. If "urq disc" means discomfort in the right upper quadrant, look for another cause. If this baseless fear is obsessive, your physician can help. Cheers. ...Read more
Im 34. Urq disc/occ floating stool for abot a yr.Normal CT scan, bllod &stool test.Worried about pancreatic cancer. But wouldn't symptoms be worse now
If occasional floating stools were caused by pancreatic cancer would they be obviously abnormal looking?
Yes: It would be obvious to anyone. "floating stools" are almost always from gas bubbles. They suggest gum-chewing or talking a lot rather than cancer. When due to steatorrhea as from pancreatic cancer, the stools are light-colored and incredibly stinky. If you are obsessed with the idea that you have pancreatic cancer, perhaps a good psychologist or other person can help you manage these thoughts. ...Read more
Likelyhood of pancreatic cancer in 34yr male with urq disc. Occ. Floating stool? Normal CT scan of abd/pelvis, u.S, blood, enzyme, stool tests normal.
Floaters are fine: The usual reason for a bowel movement floating is extra trapped gas; this varies with diet, gum-chewing, roughage, how much you talked & swallowed your saliva. When due to fat malabsorption (a much less common explanation) the person is clearly sick; if due to pancreatic cancer you'd be jaundiced. Any further concerns are best discussed with your physician. ...Read more
Im 34 w urq disc.&occ floating stool. Normal stool tests, CT scan, colonoscopy, u.S, hida scan, endoscopy=gerd/gast. Can i relax about pancreatic cancer?
Yes, you can : You mentioned nothing suspicious for pancreatic cancer. A normal ct scan is encouraging but is not 100% accurate. If there are suspicious symptoms or chances on a ct scan, a normal ca-19.9 (a blood test that is nearly specific for pancreatic cancer) would be reassuring. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Should i worry about pancreatic cancer?Urq disc.&occ floating stool. Normal stool tests, CT scan, colonoscopy, u.S., hida scan, endoscopy=gerd/gast. Im 34
Probably not: It appears that all test are normal except for the egd or endoscopy showing gastritis. Assuming normal blood workup as well, i would say that it is not likely that you have pancreatic cancer. My suggestion is that you sit down with your doctor and discuss all tests results and treatment plan. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Frequent floating stools that leave a clear haze on toilet water. Normal ct, colonoscopy, stool & 72hr fat test. Can i relax about pancreatic cancer?
I think so. : Given your age and the test that have been done already it would seem that pancreatic cancer is unlikely. Most common presentation of pancreatic cancer is painless jaundice (yellow eyeballs). Could be diet related. A nutrition consult with a food diary could be useful to determine the possible contributing factor. ...Read more
If floating stools were caused by pancreatic cancer, would they look obviously abnormal? Stool is brown, soft & formed but occ. Floats. Ct scan normal
Worried about pancreatic cancer. Ct & hida scan, blood, stool, normal. Symptoms started 1 1/2 yrs ago. If it was cancer, would i be worse by now?
Does it stand to reason that floating stool in the absence of fat malabsorption(normal CT scan and 72hr fat test isn't be caused by pancreatic cancer?
Floaters: 99% of floating stools are caused by trapped gas . This is the truth in spite of what you might pick up from 'pop' accounts. It happens to me if i chew gum. Congratulations on not using tobacco. Keep an eye on the stomach issues -- and if the pain changes, consider a check once again. And if you have malabsorption or maldigestion, it's much less subtle than just a floating stool. ...Read more

Pain upper left ribs right under chest. Sometimes lower left abd pain with upper left back pain. Gassy after meals and floating stool. Blood tests came back normal scared of pancreatic cancer.
Been having white globs in my stool that float. What could cause besides pancreatic cancer? Could it be cancer? I had pancreatitis a few years ago.
Doubt its cancer: Floating stool without much color usually indicates poor absorption of fat from your diet. A poorly functioning gallbladder, pancreas or small intestine can be involved. While pancreas cancer can cause such symptoms this is not the usual way cancer is found and 29 is a bit young for pancreas cancer but you should see your doctor to get the other issues on the list checked. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
