Simple answer: This may sound silly but, stop using drugs and you will not have the skin problems. I am not sure what problems you are having but there are a whole host of problems that occur for drug use., skin popping, chronic itching and excoriations, secondary skin infection to name a few. What kind of thoracic spine disease can u have from past IV drug use, & is it poss if quit 13 yrs ago?
There's no sayin: Injection drug use bypasses natural barriers and all manner of organisms that can infect us gain entry to the bloodstream and can travel anywhere including the spine. you shouldn't have an active infection after 13 years but the damage done then could accelerate naturally occurring degenerative changes. Yes: The pigmentation from bruises may take a few months to fade, may be longer. Leave those alone and let those heal. You are to be commended for getting off illegal drugs. Do get tested for HIV and hepatitis. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually.
