If I Am 4 Days Clean Off Opiates Will The Withdrawal Affects Start Over If I Slipped And Just Did A Little
If I am 4 days clean off opiates will the withdrawal affects start over if I slipped and just did a little?
You likely will: Here's why. When people "slip a little" in opiate withdrawal it's like a woman being "a little pregnant"or a neurosurgeon "being a little off" when the brain laser is flipped on! Nobody "slips a little."...a "slip" or "little pregnant" or anything else means, you are off the program, the woman is TOTALLY PREGNANT, & the patient's brain is cooked. Your goal is 4 decades clean not 4 days. Focus! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Started taking 50mg of Antenolol once a day, 4 days ago for HBP. If I stop taking it now will I suffer through the withdraws (eg. Chest pain, etc..) or have I not taken it that long for my body to become dependent on it.
Must be tapered down: Atenolol should never be suddenly stopped when using it for hypertension. You must consult your treating physician on how he/she wants you to taper down- usually a taper might be 50mgx 2 days, 25 mg for 2 days , then 25mg every other day x 2 days, then off ( as an example ). Stopping suddenly like you just did can cause your BP to spike. ...Read more
I have been on Norco now for 6 years from 4 to 6 a day and percoset after an accident when I fell on the ice and broke my femur. I want to get off and see if my need is mental or not I am almost too afraid not to take them?
Gentle wean: Hydrocodone & oxycodone aren't good long term on the liver. When was the last time your liver function (LFTs) were checked? Knowing what this # is is helpful with determining what 6 years of ingestion has done to your liver. A gentle wean over 5-6 months (cut out a dose each month) is probably what you'll need in order to come off of these without withdrawal issues. It is quite do-able. ...Read more
What can you do with withdraws after taking subutex when you been on methdone for 10 years and took it within a few hours my friend took subutex when hes been on methdone for the past 10 years and is having severe withdraws now cause he didn't wait at le
Not much to do: If the resultant withdrawal is very severe (like vomiting that won't stop, seizures or agitation), go to an emergency room. They can treat the symptoms. Actually, there are a few very high potency opioids (like fentanyl, sufentanil and alsufentanil) that can displace Buprenorphine from the receptors and ease withdrawal, but not many er doctors are that knowledgeable about it. Don't repeat mistake. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I used a good amount of cocaine 5 days ago while very drunk. After that night I have felt disconnected and spacey. Will this eventually go away? How long does it take the brain to heal from this? (this was my first time using cocaine
It may take ...: Several weeks to recover from your first exposure to cocaine. Remember that it is a neuro stimulant, resulting in overuse and depletion of your brain's natural neuro transmitters. Your thinking may not work right until they are replaced. Helpful supplements include anti-oxidants, b complex vitamins, vit c, and minerals. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Your question??: I don't know your question, but please understand that you should remove the Nuvaring after 21 days, then insert a new one 7 days after that. This will give you 28 day cycles. If you leave the ring in an extra 7 days as you've been doing, you won't get the maximal contraceptive effect. Please review the Package Insert. Best wishes. ...Read more

How long does ritalin stay in your system after you stop taking the medication? I was put on it for a few days but stopped due to the side effects. I am starting a new job and will be drug tested next week and am worried if I need to tell them or not.
Very short: The half life of Ritalin (methylphenidate) is quite short. If you have stopped taking the drug after a few days, and your test is not for a few more days, chances are you will not test positive. It would be wise, however, to be upfront about any current medications you are taking when you submit your sample. ...Read more
Used heroin off and on til i was 26 weeks pregnant. Will it show in the placenta and baby once i give birth if i quit now and stick with subutex?
Not where I look: There is no hiding from babies exposures. I don't look at the placenta for drugs. If I evaluate the issue I will find evidence of any drug exposure past 20 weeks. You need to make your OB and addiction team aware of your issues so baby can be properly monitored & complications avoided. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

I've been on 100 mcg levothyroxine for 12 years and I want to stop cold turkey. Will I lapse into a coma? What's the worst that can happen and when?
Why: If you really have a poorly functioning thyroid gland, the med just provides something your body cannot make. If stopped, you would gradually become hypothyroid, slowing of your metabolism, weight gain, changes in heart rate, temperature sensitivity, stooling pattern, etc would be gradual. You would realize you need the med in time to reverse the change. ...Read more

4 days ago I had 4 wisdom teeth removed and was prescribed 20mg of celebrex, codeine, and 500mg of antibiotics to take everyday for the next 2 weeks. The celebrex says not to consume alcohol while being medicated on it but can i if i miss out 1 day.
No: Follow Oral Surgeon"s instructions to the letter. Alcohol coupled with missing proper antibiotic dose can alter the titer in your blood stream, exposing you to infection flare-up. Alcohol and pain meds can potential each other, making it unsafe for you to drive or make cognitive decisions. No, skipping meds and substituting alcohol is at best foolish, at worst dangerous. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Chlamydia i had chlamydia 3 months ago and i got meds for it but half way through the 7 days i drank alcohol and then got sick and threw up ..Did that affect the meds where it didn't work? Also my waist hurts again and i'm bleeding in between periods also
You : You may still have chlamydia or you may have been reinfected. Symptoms can include irregular bleeding or spotting, pain with urination, vaginal and or rectal discharge, painful intercourse and abdominal pain. It sounds like you may not have received your full dose of medication. Chlamydia can be in your body silently, which means you aren't aware you are infected. If you remained sexually active over the last three months, you may have been reinfected by your partner. Whatever, the cause, if you have chlamydia you really need to go in and see your doctor. If you have chlamydia and it goes untreated, it can impact your fertility. See your doctor soon. Good luck. ...Read more
I have weaned myself down to 0.25 of ativan (lorazepam) a day been on that for 3 days now when can I stop it and have no withdrawls or wont i since its a low dose?
Can stop soon: If you've not had exposure to Ativan (lorazepam) or other benzodiazepine type drugs in the past, then three days of Ativan (lorazepam) at 0.25 per day is not high enough to create significant withdrawal concerns. You can simply stop it after three day without concern for much withdrawal. ...Read more
