Yes: Both are quite sedating, but Doxepin is the only one in my experience that causes weight gain, especially at doses 50 mg and above. If you start packing on weight , ask your doctor to try something else. most likely not: Anytime you take more of a drug than you are prescribed, it is considered an overdose. I doubt that you were prescribed 5 Atarax (hydroxyzine) together to be takenwith 2 alprazolam. Those 2 meds are both very sedating and together could possibly make you sleep for a long time, but i don't think it would hurt you if that was all you took. However if you drank alcohol or added other meds to that, it be dangerous! ...Read more
Depends: Some people get drowsy with just 10 mg , others can take 100 mg without any drowsiness. The drowsiness effect tends to decline after a few days. I think Zyrtec is a better option because it is just as effective and the drowsy effect is at least 80% less than Atarax (hydroxyzine). ...Read more
